What a Cursed Captain tournament is
A tournament is a timed race between players on slots. You opt in, play qualifying games during the race, and every spin earns points. The leaderboard ranks everyone by those points, and when the clock hits zero the prize places are paid.
The casino's footer describes its tournaments as weekly. That is the casino's own claim, so open the Tournaments page to see what is actually listed when you visit. We never promise that a particular race is open on any given day.
A real example: Cursed Gold Rush
The most recent race we checked was Cursed Gold Rush, billed as 'Plunder the leaderboard', with a $5,000 prize pool. It has finished, so it is shown here only to illustrate how a prize ladder looks. Its ladder was:
- 1st place: $2,000
- 2nd place: $1,000
- 3rd place: $600
- 4th to 10th place: $200 each
The card for that race said the pool was paid as real cash. Other races may differ, which is why the next section matters. See also our guide to tournament prizes.
How to join and how scoring works
Tournaments are listed on the Tournaments page of cursedcaptain.com. The steps are the same for each race:
- Opt in. Tap the button on the tournament card or the race page. One tap enrolls your account, and there is no fee.
- Play a qualifying slot at $0.20 or more. Spins below the minimum stake do not score.
- Earn points. Each spin scores by its win-to-stake ratio. See our scoring guide.
- Wait for the clock. When it reaches zero, the prize places are paid.
- Check the card. Each race states its own prize ladder and how prizes are paid.
Prizes are not always cash. The casino's general terms say tournament prizes can also come as bonus funds or free spins, with their own conditions, where the specific race terms do not say otherwise. Read the card for the race you join before you rely on a prize.
Places below the prize ladder win nothing, however close they finish. Our leaderboard guide explains how to read the board.
Who can play, and keeping it sensible
Cursed Captain is crypto-based, with balances shown in a reference currency such as $ or €. You must be 18 or over, and one account per player applies. Some countries are not accepted, for example the US, UK, France, Netherlands and Spain, so check the casino's terms for your country before you sign up.
Treat a prize as a pleasant extra and not a return on spending. Set a limit before you start and stop if it stops being fun. Our tournament tips put the budget first.
