Slot tournament scoring at Cursed Captain: how a spin earns points

Updated October 2026 · 5 min read

In a Cursed Captain tournament, each qualifying spin scores points based on its win-to-stake ratio. That one idea shapes how you should think about a race. Below is how it works, with examples. The numbers are made up to show the idea and are not real tournament figures.

Find the rule before you play

The race page and the tournament card on the Tournaments page explain how a race works, along with its prize ladder and how prizes are paid. Read them first. Nothing about how you spin matters as much as understanding the rule.

The basics from our main tournament guide still hold: opt in, play a qualifying slot at a stake of $0.20 or more, and spins below the minimum do not score.

How a spin scores

Your points for a spin depend on the win-to-stake ratio: how big the win is compared with the stake that produced it.

Example only. A $0.20 spin that wins $20 scores 100. A $2 spin that wins $200 also scores 100.

Spins that win nothing, or very little for their stake, earn little. Most spins in any session will not score highly, so keep expectations realistic.

Why a bigger stake does not buy points

Because the score comes from the ratio and not from the amount, staking more does not earn extra points by itself. The $2 spin above needed a $200 win to match the $0.20 spin that won $20.

A larger stake can produce a larger prize on a single spin, but every spin also costs a lot more. If the aim is to climb the board, the minimum stake of $0.20 is a fair way to take part.

Stakes below $0.20 are not scored at all, so do not play below the minimum and expect points.

What this means on a small budget

The rule is friendly to modest budgets, since small stakes can score as well as large ones. It is not a guarantee: results come down to luck, and no rule can promise a prize.

Decide your budget before the race and treat it as a hard ceiling. A live board can tempt you to keep going.

Choose a slot you enjoy that qualifies, and stay at a stake you are comfortable with.

Questions people ask

Where is the scoring explained?

On the race page and the tournament card on the Tournaments page, alongside the prize ladder and how prizes are paid.

Does a bigger stake score more?

No. Points come from the win-to-stake ratio, so a $0.20 spin that wins $20 scores the same 100 points as a $2 spin that wins $200.

Are the example scores real?

No. They are invented to show how the rule works. Real results depend on the tournament and on luck.

What is the minimum stake?

$0.20 on the Gold Rush race. Spins below the minimum do not score, so check the card for each race.
